Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. She is the fourth Roberts generation that has lived in Atlanta, beginning with her great-grandfather who was a farmer John Pendleton Roberts. Early on, her father began to take an interest in theater. When he was a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions on and off the campus. When he was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he was inducted into the air force in the year 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year 1957. In 1957 the couple left the military and Walter was enrolled in Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was employed by Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and moved in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for children known as Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964, a project that they funded themselves. They established an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It lasted 6 years. In 1965, they welcomed two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
