Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on the 28th of October 1967, in Atlanta. She comes from the fourth Roberts family that lived in Atlanta. It began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was farmer. Her father was keen interest from a young age in stage. In 1952, while a student of Emory University, he performed on stage in a number of shows in Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi acted in a show together with Betty Lou Bredemus. They got married in the year 1955 and their first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter attended Tulane University at New Orleans, Louisiana in 1957 after the couple left the US Air Force. Walter began his work at Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. Walter and Betty Lou financed their own production of a children's Sunday matinee show called Bum Bum and His Buddies. The Actors and Writers Workshop was created in the year 1964 and ran for six years. They welcomed in 1965 two more children into their lives: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
